Adipokines in obesity and metabolic diseases

چکیده

Adipose tissue secretes many adipokines that regulate important physiological functions. Growing studies have highlighted these bioactive molecules may contribute to the development of metabolic and cardiovascular diseases. Adipokines exert systemic effects independent activity on numerous cells system, including cardiomyocytes vascular cell walls. Adiponectin shows anti-inflammatory anti-atherosclerotic blood vessels. Conversely, resistin is endowed with pro-inflammatory stimulates proliferation smooth muscle cells, thus promoting atherosclerotic plaque. Leptin plays an role in cardiac remodeling pressure regulation through activation sympathetic system. Obesity a pathological condition associated hypertrophy white adipose tissue, which production while, it reduces adipokines. The delicate balance among pro-and generated by affects, not only complications obesity, but also onset progression atherosclerosis. Therefore, be regarded as potential agents clinical interest treatment wide range disorders biomarkers useful for early detection metabolic, inflammatory

Adipokines, Metabolic Syndrome and Rheumatic Diseases

The metabolic syndrome (MetS) is a cluster of cardiometabolic disorders that result from the increasing prevalence of obesity. The major components of MetS include insulin resistance, central obesity, dyslipidemia, and hypertension. MetS identifies the central obesity with increased risk for cardiovascular diseases (CVDs) and type-2 diabetes mellitus (T2DM). Patients with rheumatic diseases, su...

Recently Discovered Adipokines and Cardio-Metabolic Comorbidities in Childhood Obesity

White adipose tissue (WAT) asset, in terms of cell number, fat storage capacity and endocrine function, is largely determined in early stages of life and is pivotal for shaping the WAT pro-inflammatory behavior. WAT derived adipokines have been shown to play a main role in several cardio-metabolic abnormalities of obesity. This review focuses on the most recently identified adipokines, namely a...

Metabolic Syndrome, Chronic Kidney, and Cardiovascular Diseases: Role of Adipokines

Obesity is a chronic disease, whose incidence is alarmingly growing. It is associated with metabolic abnormalities and cardiovascular complications. These complications are clustered in the metabolic syndrome (MetS) leading to high cardiovascular morbidity and mortality. Obesity predisposes to diabetic nephropathy, hypertensive nephrosclerosis, and focal and segmental glomerular sclerosis and r...

Adipokines in pancreatic diseases

Recently, because of the growing number of obese people, the correlation between adipose tissue and numerous disorders has drawn the attention of researchers. The products of adipose tissue, adipokines: leptin, adiponectin, visfatin and resistin, affect lipid metabolism, insulin secretion and inflammatory response. Therefore, it is possible that adipokines take part in the pathogenesis of acute...
